19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after March of that year.
Success also means Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is really nice," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
His counter-punching play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first professional title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
He rescued 4 initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
